Supreme Court Justices Discus Health Care Reform in Private

Open Door Talks Have Ended

The Supreme Court Justices open door talks over President Obama's Health care plan have finished, which means the public may hear little about the matter until June. From this point on, the Supreme Court will consider the mater privately. This leaves millions on the edge of their seats, waiting on this monumental decision. Between now and June, rumors are likely to fly, further confusing the American people.

What Americans Should Know

The fate of Obama's heath-care reform is now in the hands of the Supreme Court. The core of their decision revolves around the individual mandate law. The question regarding this law is if this mandate is constitutional. The mandate itself would become a law that would make it mandatory for almost all Americans to obtain health insurance. If this law becomes a reality, then Americans must obtain health insurance by 2014. If a person fails to get themselves and their family insurance then they would be fined.

Republicans spent three days in front of the Supremo Court explaining why they felt this was an unconstitutional mandate. What about Americans, how do they feel about it? Surveys show that 56 Percent of Americans believe the law should be repealed. In this case, repealing the law would mean that people would not be forced to get health insurance.

The Bottom Line

If the Supreme Court Justices rule the individual mandate law unconstitutional, Obama's entire health care plan will fall. The plan is like a house of cards, and this mandate is a part of the foundation. If this card (the individual mandate law) gets repealed, the rest of the plan may crumble. For now, Americans must sit and wait to find out the fate of Obama's health-care plan.
