For Christie Brinkly, her interview with Matt Lauer ended in tears. The interview was sceduled to discusse her upcoming Broadway role in "Chicago". However, when Lauer began asking questions about her ex-husband things took a turn for the worst. Brinkly could no longer endure her pains and broke down as she tried to answer Lauer's questions.
Brinkley confessed that her husband was still contacting her even though there is a no contact order in place. Brinkley talked about how she has begged the judge to make it stop. While her husband claims Brinkley is being over dramatic and trying to discredit him, there is reason to suspect that Brinkley is telling the truth.
Peter Cook, Brinkly's ex-husband has been labeled as porn-crazed by the media for his actions. He cheated on Brinkly with at least one 18 year old. It is rumored that the court is in positioned of harassing e-mails that he has sent his ex-wife. Abusers often try to place the blame on their victim. His accusations that she is trying to hurt him in some way by her public outburst of tears is a good example of trying to blame the victim.
Realizing that he had hit a sore topic, Lauer quickly ended the interview and apologized for upsetting her. Her upcoming Broadway special was barley apart of the interview. ABC promises to schedule another interview that will talk about "Chicago" in more detail. Brinkly will play the lead role, otherwise known as Roxi, when the show starts on April 8th.
